In Plain Sight is an American dramatic television series on USA Network. In Plain Sight follows the story of a Federal Marshal with the Witness Protection program who must hide her high-risk, high-impact job from her family.
The series revolves around Mary Shannon (Mary McCormack), a Deputy United States Marshal attached to the Albuquerque, New Mexico, office of the Federal Witness Security Program (WITSEC), more commonly known as the Federal Witness Protection Program.
To those that know her, Mary Shannon is a glorified meter maid, but her real job is much more dangerous. She must oversee federal witnesses who have been relocated through the Witness Protection program and make sure that they stay safe. But they all have one thing in common – someone wants them dead.
Shannon must find ways to balance her professional life of protecting witnesses, her professional relationship with her partner, Marshall Mann, and her problematic personal life. The show is filmed on location in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The series stars Mary McCormack in the title role and Lesley Ann Warren as her mother, Jinx. In Plain Sight also stars Frederick Weller, Nichole Hiltz and Paul Ben-Victor, along with returning guest-stars Lesley Ann Warren, Cristian de la Fuente, and Joshua Malina. Oscar, Emmy and Grammy winner Rita Moreno (”Cane,” “The Guardian”), four-time Emmy winner Allison Janney (”The West Wing,” “Juno”), Steven Weber (”Wings,” “Studio 60″), Tess Harper (”No Country for Old Men,” “Breaking Bad”), Josh Cooke (”Committed,” “Four Kings”) and Donnie Wahlberg (”Boomtown,” “The Sixth Sense”) have also been cast to guest star in season three in the USA Network hit original series. Showrunner John McNamara (”The Fugitive,” “Eyes”) joins the show this year as writer/executive producer, further elevating the show’s narrative drive, production value and design.
In Plain Sight is produced by Universal Media Studios for USA Network. The most-watched series on basic cable Sundays in 2009 returns on March 31.
